I have worked for over 20 years as a theatre director, producer and educator. I have made work across all scales, from large national theatres to community spaces, prisons and hotel rooms.
Since 2021, I have divided my time between theatre projects and working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice.
My most recently I have collaborated as director and co-creator with James Rowland on his highly praised trilogy of shows which premiered at Summerhall and continues to tour the UK and internationally.
I was awarded the Regional Young Theatre Director bursary in 2010 to Sheffield Theatres where my production of Samuel Beckett's Happy Days won a UK Theatre Award.

Since then, I have directed productions across the UK at theatres including Manchester Royal Exchange, Sheffield Theatres, Hull Truck, Summerhall and the Watermill as well as in prisons, libraries, parks, community centres and festivals.
My short film, The Send Off, was commissioned by BBC and has played at festivals internationally.
From 2017-2023 I was Artistic Director and Joint CEO of Attic where I commissioned, directed and produced work by Roy Williams, Chris Bush, Beth Flintoff, Stephen Sharkey, Daniel Ward, James Rowland and Jeremiah ‘Sugar J’ Brown, as well as overseeing a large participatory programme.
From 2016-2018, I was Associate Connections Director for the National Theatre Connections programme working with young people across the UK.
I have worked extensively as a visiting director and teacher for many leading drama schools and was a tutor for Open Door, which helps young people from economically disadvantaged background to access leading drama schools.
I trained as a director at Drama Centre London before working as an assistant director at the National Theatre and RSC to directors including Marianne Elliot, Howard Davies and Peter Gill. My first production Mojo Mickybo by Owen McCafferty opened at the Arcola before transferring to Trafalgar Studios making me (according to the Evening Standard) ‘the youngest director in the history of the West End’.
